Why is Nutrition so important?
Did you know 60-70% of your results are based on the foods that you eat? Most people understand that if you eat healthy you will feel and look your best. They understand that if you eat healthy you can lose weight. But what most people don't understand is that you can also gain weight even by eating healthy! It's not just the type of food you put in your mouth, it's the total amount of calories as well and the combination of protein, carbohydrates and fats.
The days of the hunter and gatherer are long over and portion sizes are out of control. In today's society there is an abundance of food, this makes it hard to know what is healthy and what real portion sizes are. In your quest for physical fitness it is important to learn how to make better food choices and incorporate them into your daily life.
How does the Get Results! Nutrition Program work?
The Core Fitness team advises our Nutrition Coach of any medical issues clients may have regarding weight, eating habits, allergies, etc. Then, clients meet with the Nutrition Coach for an in-depth hour and a half consultation. This includes an analysis of dietary and lifestyle habits as well as individual food preferences. We start with clients current eating habits and begin to make improvements in quality as well as look at where their personal dietary pitfalls lie.
After the coach has all of the necessary information the coach can now tailor a Get Results! Nutrition Program around your specific daily energy expenditure (the total amount of calories you burn each day!). This number is a combination of factors including; Basal Metabolic Rate, exercise regimen, thermic effect of food, and sedentary caloric needs; to name a few. You will then get to choose the foods you have at each meal. Clients leave with a customized menu plan that fits with their schedules and food preferences. The plan that is designed for you is structured around the ADA guidelines including smaller, frequent and less processed foods.
Do I have to follow this program forever?
The Get Results! Nutrition Program is designed as a catalyst to lead you to a healthier lifestyle. We recommend that the basic principles be followed. But we are realistic. That is why we include foods you enjoy so that you will be satisfied and not cheat. Once you hit your goal weight we can redesign your meal plan so that you can have more calories but still maintain the weight you got rid of! We never say the word lose….because if you lose it you may find it again!
Keep this in mind: not eating enough calories is just as bad as eating too many calories. Over 85% of clients are amazed at how much more they get to eat on this plan. And I guarantee it will amaze you too!
